Iran Rejects U.S. Demands For Fresh Nuclear Deal

Unic Press UK: The Islamic Republic of Iran has reacted to recent demands of the United States – laid out Monday by the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – that a new nuclear deal must be established to replace the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as Iran Nuclear Deal.

In a statement Monday, the U.S. Secretary of State, Pompeo listed twelve conditions for a new nuclear deal with Iran, saying that the Islamic Republic must:

  • Allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to carry out inspection without any restrictions.
  • Stop all kinds of ballistic missile programme.
  • End all kinds of uranium and plutonium enrichment.
  • Stop supporting Jihad, the Hezbollah and Hamas.
  • Declare to IAEA the full details of previous nuclear programme.
  • Support the Iraqi government.
  • Stop supporting rebels in Yemen.
  • Withdraw Iranian forces from the Syrian Republic.
  • Stop supporting terrorists – Taliban and al-Qaeda – in Afghanistan.
  • Release all the United States citizens & those of U.S. allies in custody in Iran.
  • Stop supporting militias, including Shia milita.
  • Stop threatening neighboring countries to Iran.

Reacting to the twelve compulsory conditions from the U.S., the Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif tweeted Monday, saying: “US diplomacy sham is merely a regression to old habits…”. The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also strongly denounced U.S. fresh demands.

“Who are you to decide for Iran and the world? The world today does not accept America to decide for the world, as countries are independent. We will continue our path with the support of our nation,” ILNA News Agency wrote, quoting President Rouhani.
