Unic Press UK: The United States guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) today collided with a Japanese commercial tug in Sagami Bay, Japan, as the missile destroyer was participating in a towing exercise.
The accident occurred when the tug boat lost propulsion and drifted into the position of the guided-missile destroyer.
No one was injured. USS Benfold (DDG 65) sustained minimal damage, including scrapes on its side, pending a full damage assessment, the Amercian Navy wrote on its website.
