ABUJA, Federal Republic of Nigeria. (Unic Press UK) — The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has directed its 37 “retail mega stations” to commence 24-hour service.
The directive was announced by NNPC Group General Manager Ohi Alegbe through a press release on Friday, 13 November 2015.
Other highlights during the press release included:
- The NNPC has sufficient volume of petrol to meet domestic consumption; and 1.4bn litres of petrol are available for distribution to fuel stations in the country all through November 2015.
- Pipelines And Product Marketing Company Limited (PPMC) has increased the volume of petrol being distributed.
- There is no scarcity of petroleum products in NNPC storage and retail outlets; hence a lack of petrol or any other petroleum product is not the reason behind ongoing queue at a number of petrol stations in the country.
- NNPC has 37 “retail mega stations” and 513 “retail outlets” spread across Nigeria, and the retail outlets re-order level is set up in a way that each retail outlet has products at all times.
- Most of the mega stations will offer 24-hour service. Where 24-hour service is not feasible due to security challenges or other serious reasons, then extended hours of service from 5am until 10pm will subsist.
- NNPC hotlines – 08057005021, 08052195801 and 08100941174 – have opened to enable members of the public to connect easily with the NNPC providing feedback on the operations of NNPC retail outlets.
