LONDON, United Kingdom. Danny, the first hurricane of the 2015 season, has gained a little strength as it moves across the Atlantic but is expected to soon start weakening.
The US National Hurricane Centre says the winds should reduce somewhat on Saturday.
The hurricane is currently about 985 miles (1,590 km) east-southeast of the Leeward Islands and is moving west-northwest with winds of 85mph (140km/h).
Danny is small by “normal” standards with hurricane-force winds only extending outward by around 10 miles (17 km).
The National Hurricane Centre says Danny does not pose a threat to land but that it should be watched to monitor its progress.
