Unic Press UK: South Africa says the allegation by the United States President Donald Trump that the lands of white farmers are being seized is narrow and seeks to create a division in a manner that reminds the South African people of the sad events of the colonial era.
Responding to a tweet in which Trump said that white farmers had been killed and accused the South African of expropriating the lands of white farmers, the government of South Africa said it “totally rejects this narrow perception which only seeks to divide our nation and reminds us of our colonial past.”

I have asked Secretary of State @SecPompeo to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers. “South African Government is now seizing land from white farmers.” @TuckerCarlson @FoxNews

South Africa parliament had, on February 27, 2018, passed a motion for land expropriation without compensation, with 241 votes in favour and 83 votes against. The motion was sponsored by the leader of a South African far-left political party Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema.
Land expropriation is part of the core agenda of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) led by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
