Unic Press UK: The Nigerian government said on Twitter that next Tuesday, the 12th June, will not be marked as a Federal Public Holiday.
The Federal Government wishes to clarify to the public that the Federal public holiday on June 12, recently declared as the new Democracy Day, begins from next year 2019, and not this year. Hence, June 12 this year is not a public holiday.

The tweet above serves to clarify the government position with regard to its press statement last week, in which, President Buhari declared 12th June of every year as Democracy Day and posthumously awarded the Nigeria’s highest honour – Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) – on Moshood Abiola, the presumed winner of the Presidential Election that was held on 12th June 1993.
