Conflicts of Interest
Trump said he could multitask, legally run his business organization and run the U.S government. However:
- Trump will separate from his business empire by resigning from all offices and positions.
- He will move all of his businesses and investment to a trust.
- Trump’s adult sons’, Donald Jr and Eric are going to be running the business empire.
- The president-elect has ordered all pending business deals to be terminated.
- Trump’s daughter, Ivanka will relinquish all management positions in the Trump organization.
- To avoid any emoluments conflicts, Trump has decided that all payments from foreign governments made to his hotels will be donated to the U.S. Treasury.
Governance
- I want to bring the greatest people in government.
- “I will be the greatest job president God has ever created”, Trump said.
- The U.S. government will cut the cost of prescription drugs using a competitive bidding process.
- “A lot of car companies are moving in” and “big factories are going to be built”, he said.
- There would be a robust security/defense to safeguard the U.S. against hackers/cyberattacks, not the kind of poor system that allowed easy hacking of the Democratic National Committee.
- “There will be a major border tax on companies that are leaving and getting away with murder.”
Fake news
- Trump had a heated argument with a reporter from Cable Network News (CNN) when the president-elect refused to take his question. Trump called CNN “fake news”. “I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news,” Trump told CNN reporter Jim Acosta at the press conference.
- Disgraceful should the intelligence agencies let out false information. It would be a blot if the intelligence agencies put out fake information.
- Thanks media organizations that refused to run unverified allegations against him.
- BuzzFeed is a “failing pile of garbage“. Trump was referring to the news publication that the Russians held a compromising report on him.

Russia
- If Vladimir Putin likes Donald Trump, I consider that an asset, not a liability.
- Russia and the United States could do a lot of good together, including tackling ISIS and other terrorist groups.
- Russia is not the only state that hacks the United States.
- Russia will have respect for the U.S far beyond what has ever happened between both countries.
The Affordable Care Act [Obamacare]
- Obamacare is a complete and total disaster.
- The Affordable Care Act is “imploding”. The U.S. Congress should repeal/replace the health law.
- GOP is doing the Democrats a tremendous favor by repealing/replacing Obamacare.
Mexico
- We are going to build a wall. Mexico will pay for the wall.

- Trump said/believes that most Americans are not really bothered that he has yet to release his tax returns.
