LAGOS, Federal Republic of Nigeria. March 8, 2015 (Tribune) — The People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO) on Saturday, ridiculed the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its flopped one-million-man-march in Lagos, saying the party and its controversial leader and godfather, Bola Tinubu have lost control of Lagos State.
Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, said that “the fact that what the APC boasted would be a one-million-man march could only attract about 10,000 persons is a reflection of the pitiful state of delusion that they are suffering from.”
According to Fani-Kayode, “They have lost touch with reality and with the people of the state over whom they have maintained a wicked and ungodly economic and political stranglehold for all of 16 years. But the people of Lagos have now seen through their deception and have decided to reject them at the polls this time round.
“The Lagos people have amply demonstrated their anger against the APC and its leader, having watched the TV documentary, titled “Unmasking the Real Tinubu,” which exposed the plundering and privatisation of Lagos State by the sinking godfather and overwhelmed Lion of Bourdillon, the Lagos people in their contempt will sink the APC and Tinubu with their votes in March.
“It is interesting to read that Tinubu asked the people at the flopped march to march for their freedom. I agree with him and the people will obey him by freeing themselves on April 11 from the political and economic bondage into which Tinubu has put them since 1999,” he said.
Also, Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has described as shameful, the purported one-million-man march held in Lagos today, by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the march was in support of corruption and the massive looting of Lagos State by the APC leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, adding that; “what the APC demonstrated was that they don’t care about the feelings of the people.”
He said; “the APC and its leaders need to seek forgiveness from God for stealing Lagos State blind, instead of marching on the heads of the same Lagosians that they shortchanged for 16 years.”
Adeyeye, who noted that Tinubu became stupendously rich at the expense of Lagos State tax payers, added that it was an insult for anyone to be matching in support of a corruption personified individual like Tinubu.
In a related development, the Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday described the acclaimed one- million-man march organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, as tattered and poorly coordinated.
The party in a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr. Taofeek Gani, stated that this had further exposed the APC as fatigued of ideas to continue governing the state.
The party, therefore, predicted that with this poor outing, the APC should be prepared for a “disgrace” this March.
The PDP also described as blatant falsehood and over exaggeration of the number of attendees which the party said the APC had continued “to put at One Million probably to give General Buhari false hope in Lagos State.”
