Unic Press UK: The Secretary of the State of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger, announced Wednesday that a full by-hand recount of ballots would be carried out prior to a certification of results in regard to the U.S. Presidential Election 2020.
According to Raffensperger, the only race that would be audited via a full hand recount is the presidential election ballots.
“Was there illegal voting? I am sure there was. And my office is investigating all of it. Does it rise to the numbers or margin necessary to change the outcome to where President Trump is given Georgia’s electoral votes? That is unlikely,” said Raffensperger.
In a letter Tuesday to the secretary, Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer and the Republican candidate for Senate Rep. Doug Collins, had urged for a recount before the results are certified.
According to law Georgia passed in 2019– Georgia is required have a state-wide hand Risk Limiting Audit (RLA), trigging a recount.
