Unic Press UK: United States president-elect has called into question the effectiveness of the United Nations.
Trump, who was obviously taken aback over the UN Security Council resolution that condemned Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, reacted via his twitter account saying:
The United Nations has such great potential but right now it is just a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time. So sad!

Of the 15-member international body, 14 votes were in favor of ending Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem; the United States abstained when the issue was put to vote on Friday, the 23rd January 2016.
Israel rejected the resolution given excerpts from a statement issued from the office of the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, which reads:
“Israel rejects this shameful anti-Israel resolution… will not abide by its terms”
The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, who spoke on Tuesday, the 27th December 2016, said:
“…the world rejects the settlements, as they are illegal, in our occupied land including east Jerusalem. The decision lays the foundation for any future serious negotiation … it paves the way for the international peace conference slated to be held in Paris next month… We hope this conference comes up with a mechanism and timetable to end the occupation”
