The Washington Times: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump kicked off the week Monday by warning that the 2016 election is rife with voter fraud and blaming GOP leaders for not doing more to stop it.
With polls showing his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton up nationally and in most key battleground states, Mr. Trump is telling supporters that they are fighting against a “rigged” system that includes the news media and both Democrats and Republicans who he says are eager to protect the status quo. He has urged them to keep a close eye on polling places on Election Day.
“Of course, there is large scale voter fraud happening on and before election day,” Mr. Trump said on Twitter. “Why do Republican leaders deny what is going on? So naive!”
Early voting has gotten underway in many states, and both the Clinton and Trump campaigns have said they are optimistic about what they have seen from the early returns.
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Mr. Trump’s running mate, meanwhile, has said Republicans will accept the outcome of the Nov. 8 election.
