ABUJA, Federal Republic of Nigeria. (Unic Press UK) – The Senate President Bukola Saraki has mandated the law-making body’s committee on ethics, privileges and public petitions to investigate the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) chair Danladi Umar.
The decision to investigate Umar is, the sequel to a petition by the senator representing Ebonyi state Central senatorial zone, Obinna Ogba. The outcome of the investigation is expected to be presented at a Senate plenary within two weeks.
Ironically, the Senate President who mandated the investigation of the CCT chair is under prosecution at the CCT over a 13-count charge of false declaration of assets in the form he submitted at the Code of Coduct Bureau in 2003.
