Abandoned Projects In Rivers State To Be Completed — Gov Wike

PORT HARCOURT, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has promised that his administration will complete all the projects abandoned by the previous administration in the state.

The governor made the promise when the Archbishop of the Niger Delta Province, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Ignatius Kattey, paid him a courtesy call in his office, on Wednesday.

He told the cleric that he would complete all abandoned federal or state projects that would have positive and direct impact on the lives of the people and the economy of the state.

The governor cited projects like the Abuloma/Woji Road, Woji/Akpajo Road and the Rumueprikom/Rumuolumeni Road as projects started and abandoned by the last administration but had now been earmarked for completion by his administration, because of their importance to the economy.

“We cannot just abandon a project and fold our arms because we did not award it in the first place. If we do that, we will all lose; the entire people of Rivers State will lose,” he said.

On the issue of security, Governor Wike said. “We can provide all the logistic support to our security agencies but without prayers to the Almighty God nobody is safe.”
