PORTHARCOURT, Federal Republic of Nigeria. In compliance with the directive by the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor Nyesom Wike, on Monday, dissolved the boards of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RISIEC) and the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission (RSJSC).
The Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Opunabo Inko-Tariah, made this known in a short message (sms) to the Tribune Online in Port Harcourt, on Monday evening.
The state legislature had, at its sitting, earlier in the day, declared as illegal the local council election conducted on May 23 by the immediate past administration in the state.
