Black Lives Matter: Much More Will Be Done To Tackle Inequality – Boris Johnson

Unic Press UK: The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has said that his administration will be setting up a commission to look at all “aspects of inequality” as the country has a duty to do much more to tackle inequality.

In what appears to be a reaction to the voicing of outrage around the globe over racial injustice, Mr Johnson, MP wrote:

“There is much more that we need to do; and we will. It is time for a cross-governmental commission to look at all aspects of inequality – in employment, in health outcomes, in academic and all other walks of life,” the Prime Minister said in an article he penned in the The Telegraph.

Johnson added that what happened over the weekend considering that a lot of far-right thugs and bovver boys converged in London to protect the statue of Winston Churchill is “utterly absurd”; and a situation in which the statue of Winston Churchill is in danger of attack is “absurd and deplorable”.

Meanwhile, the statue of Winston Churchill situated in Westminster was boarded up last week as the authorities try to protect it from being daubed or destroyed as anti-racism protests continue to rage around the world, including the UK, over U.S. police shooting at black Americans.

The statue of Churchill was earlier defaced by protesters a few days ago, and there are fears that, if left unprotected during further protests, the statue could be destroyed same way that of a 17th century slave trader, Edward Colston, was torn down in Bristol on Sunday.
