Unic Press UK: Those who are 70-years-old and above might be forced into self-isolation within weeks as Britain ups its response to the coronavirus outbreak, the Health Secretary Matt Hancock said during a BBC interview.
When the BBC’s Andrew Marr inquired about the development that would lead to anybody of the age of 70 being asked to stay inside their house for four months, Matt Hancock replied: “The protection of the vulnerable and elderly by asking them to stay away, to stay at home, that is in our action plan. But we do not want formally to say yet that people should do that and the reason for that is simply this length of time that they need to stay self-isolated, to stay at home, to protect themselves, is a very big ask, it’s a long time… we know that it has negative impacts.”
