Killing Of Qasem Soleimani: Iranian Forces To Hit U.S. Military Sites In Retaliation

Unic Press UK: The military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Hossein Dehghan says U.S. military sites are the targets of Iranian military strikes to retaliate the blow inflicted on Iranians by the U.S. killing Friday of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who, until his death, was the head/commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force.

During an exclusive interview with the CNN’s Frederik Pleitgen in the capital city of Iran, Tehran, Hossein Dehghan said:

“The response for sure will be military, and against military sites. Let me tell you one thing: Our leadership has officially announced that we have never been seeking war and we will not be seeking war. It was America that has started the war. Therefore, they should accept appropriate reactions to their actions. The only thing that can end this period of war is for the Americans to receive a blow that is equal to the blow they have inflicted. Afterward they should not seek a new cycle.”

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Parliament has voted that the U.S. troops and coalition partners should leave Iraq following the killing of Soleimani in Iraq, which, the interim Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi describes as “political assassination”.

Iraq’s executive arm would have to approve Parliament’s decision on forcing the U.S. to leave, although the Iraqi PM openly supports the decision of Parliament.

Soon after the killing of Soleimani, the U.S. government advised all Americans to leave Iraq immediately as the domino effects of the killing gathered traction.
