Solider Killed As Gunmen Attack Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Home At Otuoke

Unic Press UK: Gunmen attacked the Otuoke home of Goodluck Jonathan in the early hours of Tuesday. They killed one of the soldiers’ guarding the property that’s situated in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

Reacting on Tuesday to the tragic attack, the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who spoke Tuesday to the former president Goodluck Johnathan by phone, denounced the attack, and described it as tragic, sad.

The president Muhammadu Buhari further commiserated with the family of Goodluck Jonathan, and family members of the soldier that was killed during the exchange of fire. Buhari assured the Nigerian people of his administration’s commitment towards protecting the people’s properties, life.

In a statement on the attack, the main opposition political party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) described the incident as “extremely disturbing”. The party said the Nigerian government has a duty to apprehend the perpetrators.
