Unic Press UK: A federal High Court, Abuja, Tuesday summoned the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and the State Security Services Director General, Lawal Bichi over the continued detention of Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore. The duo, Malami and Bichi are to appear in court on 23 December 2019.
Another judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier signed an order on 6 November for the release of Sowore, but the accused has yet to be released from custody despite complying with the Court’s bail conditions.
Omoyele Sowore was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on 3 August. The initial counts against Sowore includes money laundering, insulting the Nigerian president, fraud, and treasonable felony.
