Unic Press UK: The Russian military police is patrolling the northwestern borders of Manbij District along the line of engagement of the Syrian and Turkish armed forces, in a subtle move to ensure there’s no direct military confrontation between the Republic of Turkey and the Syrian Arab Republic after Turkey. And the Syrian government army has established full control over Manbij and inhabited communities in the area.
The presence of Russia in the northwestern borders follows the withdrawal of United States troops from the two hitherto bases occupied by the U.S.; and Turkey’s launch of a another military operation against Kurdish militia.
In a statement Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said:
“Servicemen of the US Armed Forces have abandoned their bases in the area of Dadat, a settlement located to the northwest of Manbij, and Umm Miyal, leaving for the border between Syria and Iraq”, the TASS news agency reports.
The Russian Defense Ministry added that the Syrian forces have established full control over the city of Manbij and nearby inhabited communities.
