#RevolutionNow: Federal High Court Grants Bail To Omoyele Sowore

Unic Press UK: A judge of the Federal High Court, Taiwo Taiwo has granted the bail application of Omoyele Sowore – the principal organizer/convener of the August 5 peaceful protest tagged #RevolutionNow.

Sowore, who was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on August 3, has been in police custody following a ruling by the same judge that the defendant Omoyele could be held in custody for 45 days in the first instance.

Justice Taiwo ruled that the defendant, Sowore, must deposit his international passport with the registry of the court; and released to his counsel, Femi Falana (SAN), who would be responsible to produce Sowore before to court to answer a seven-count charge before the court.

The charges against Sowore includes money laundering, insulting the Nigerian president, fraud, and treasonable felony.
