Unic Press UK: Judge Abubakar Datti Yahaya of the Court of Appeal in Abuja judicial division issued an order Monday that the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari should, within five days, file a reply with regard to the allegation that he was not qualified to stand as a presidential candidate in the 2019 General Election, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The Appeal Court also ruled that the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have five days to respond to the issues raised by the appellants, who, among other submissions, have called into question the educational qualification of President Buhari as well as his eligibility to stand as a candidate in the Presidential Election 2019.
The case has been adjourned to July 8 for hearing.
