Unic Press UK: Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday received in audience the leaders of the Nigerian 9th Senate – the upper chamber of Nigeria’s bicameral legislative body – who were elected on June 11.
Ahmad Lawan (APC – Yobe North), the former Leader of the Nigerian 8th Senate defeated Ali Ndume, 79:28, to emerge as the Senate President of the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Ovie Omo-Agege (APC – Delta State central) defeated the former Deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremmadu, 69:38, and was duly elected the Deputy Senate President of the 9th Senate.
