Court Orders The Arrest Of 3 Palace Officials Of Kano Emirate

Unic Press UK: A Magistrate Court in Kano State has ordered the arrest of three palace officials – Mujitaba Abba, the Chief of Staff to the Emir of Kano, Mannir Sanusi and Accountant of Kano Emirate Council, Sani Muhammad-Kwaru – of the Kano Emirate.

Chief Magistrate Mohammed Idris issued the order Tuesday following a motion moved by the Kano State Public Complainant and Anti-corruption Commission praying the court to order the arrest of the three persons, who are among the four persons initially summoned, but refused to appear in court, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Kano Emirate, which hitherto used to cover the whole of Kano State, was recently divided into five; whittling the control/jurisdiction of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. The state currently has four newly created emirates – Rano, Gaya, Karaye and Bichi – of which each is headed by an Emir.
