Unic Press UK: The United Nations has condemned the terror attacks in which a priest and worshippers where killed during Holy Mass inside a Catholic Church in Burkina Faso.
“In a statement, Mr Guterres urged “all citizens of Burkina Faso to stand firmly with one another across communities and not to succumb to efforts to sow discord and breed further violence.” He also recalled the sanctity of all places of worship and expressed his hopes the perpetrators can be swiftly brought to justice, and urged “all citizens of Burkina Faso to stand firmly with one another across communities and not to succumb to efforts to sow discord and breed further violence,” the UN News Centre reports.
The President of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés in condemning the deadly attacks, also demanded that the fundamental rights of religious freedom be respected.
