Court Of Appeal: Hearing On Atiku’s Presidential Election Petition Would Begin Today

Unic Press UK: The hearing of the presidential election petitions would start today with an inaugural session at the Court of Appeal, Abuja judicial division.

“By the schedule of activities released on Tuesday, the tribunal listed four petitions for mention. The first is the one filed by Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and Ambrose Owuru, who claimed to be the party’s presidential candidate. The petition, marked: CA/PEPC/001/2019 was filed on March 7 this year. The second, marked: CA/PEPC/002/2019 was filed on March 18 this year by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the election, Atiku Abubakar. The third marked: CA/PEPC/003/2019 was filed by the Coalition for Change (C4C) and Geff Ojinika, who claimed to be the party’s presidential candidate. The fourth petition, marked: CA/PEPC/004/2019, was filed on March 19 this year by the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pastor Aminchi Habu, listed as the party’s presidential candidate,” the Nigeria Lawyer stated Tuesday on its website.

It was in March 2019 that the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar filed an election petition https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2019/03/Atikus-election-petition-against-Buhari%E2%80%99s-victory.pdf in the Court of Appeal, praying the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to declare him (Atiku) winner of the Nigeria Presidential Election 2019 or nullify the presidential election of 23 February 2019 and a fresh election ordered.
