Unic Press UK: A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, presided by Judge Jude Okeke, has granted the leave sought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to amend the criminal charges against a former Secretary of the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and several others.
The former SGF, Babachir Lawal along with Suleiman Abubakar, Apeh John Monday, Hamidu David Lawal, Rholavision Engineering Ltd and Josmon Technologies Ltd are facing criminal charges of diversion of funds, fraud and criminal conspiracy allegedly committed on or about August 2016 in the guise of simplified irrigation and removing invasive plant species with a sum of money in excess ₦500 million.
The court adjourned to April 11, 2019.
