Unic Press UK: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Nigeria has delivered fresh copies of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to replace the ones that were destroyed during a fire incident last week in Plateau State.
The fire incident Saturday [February 9] had destroyed loads of election material – 5987 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs), 755 ballot boxes, 14 generators, election forms, official stamps, 380 voting cubicles – at the Qua’an Pan Local Government office of INEC in Plateau.
During a live broadcast Thursday, the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Government to the conduct of free and fair elections in a safe and peaceful atmosphere.
Nigeria General Election 2019 would hold on Saturday, the 16th February 2019, from 08:00 AM (Lagos time).
