Unic Press UK: The leader of the Catholic Church and Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis said Saturday that sexual abuse if a “horrible crime,” the Vatican News reports.
The position of the Catholic Church was reiterated, laid bare by Pope Francis during a lunch the Catholic Church pontiff had with 10 young participants attending the World Youth Day (WYD) in Panama, when a youth minister in the Diocese of San Bernardino, California, Brenda Berenice Noriega asked him about the clerical sexual abuse crisis.
Noriega, who’s part of the U.S. delegation of young people attending World Youth Day in Panama, said it is important for her to hear the Pope express “his affirmation about the support of the Church to the victims.”
