Onnoghen: Appeal Court Orders Code Of Conduct Tribunal To Halt Proceedings

Unic Press UK: Following a request by the legal counsel to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), the Appeal Court has ordered the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to maintain a stay of proceedings with regard to the six-count charge against the CJN, Walter Onnoghen.

Wole Olanipekun (SAN), who leads many senior lawyers had filed a matter before the Appeal Court, praying for an order of the court to restrain the CCT from proceeding with Onnoghen’s trial until the matter before the Appeal Court is determined on January 30, 2019.

At the Code of Conduct Tribunal, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Judge Walter Onnoghen is facing a six-count charge, which includes failing to fully declare his assets as required by law.
