Onnoghen: Court Restrains Code Of Code Tribunal & Federal Govt. From Removing CJN

Unic Press UK: An Order of interim injunction has been made by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, presided by Judge I E Ekwo, which restrains the federal government and the Code of Code Tribunal from from removing the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen from office, pending the determination of suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/672019. The Order was made Monday. The case is adjourned to January 29, 2019.

Before now, two courts – the Federal High Court (Suit nos. FHC/ABJ/CS/27/2019 & FHC/ABJ/CS/28/2019] before Judge Maha and the National Industrial Court (suit No. NICN/ABJ/07/2019) – also sitting in Abuja had issued restraining orders, which stops the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) from further action on the trial of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.

At the Code of Conduct Tribunal, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Judge Walter Onnoghen is facing a six-count charge, which includes failing to fully declare his assets as required by law.
