Syria Crisis: U.S. Troops & Military Equipment Moving Out Of Syria

Unic Press UK: Following the United States government decision Wednesday to withdraw troops from the Syrian Arab Republic (Syria), trucks are now moving U.S. military equipment away from Syria, the Anadolu news agency reported.

In a recorded message Wednesday, Trump said: “It’s time for our troops to come back home. Our boys, our young women, our men — they’re all coming back, and they’re coming back now.” He also tweeted; “We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there…”

The U.S. troops arrived in Syria on October 2015 without an invitation of the Syrian government.

As of Wednesday, there are circa 2,000 U.S. troops in eastern Syria for the purpose of advising/assisting the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the U.S. war against terrorist ISIS.

Apart from collaborating with the SDF, the U.S. also provides support for the YPG/PKK – a group designated as a terrorist organization by many countries.

Recently the Turkish government led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to carry out a military operation in northeastern Syria to dislodge/destroy elements of the YPG/PKK – a heavily armed terror group being supported by the U.S. government
