Unic Press UK: The United States Senate on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution https://www.foreign.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/SJ%20Res%20Supporting%20a%20Diplomatic%20Solution%20in%20Yemen%20and%20Condemning%20the%20Murder%20of%20Jamal%20Khashoggi.pdf declaring the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman is responsible for the murder of Saudi-born journalist Jamal Khashoggi, brutally killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey.

Excerpts from the Resolution reads:

“Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that the Senate believes Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi”

Turkish national authorities repeatedly alleged that the Saudi Arabian government is responsible for the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed a few minutes after his arrival at the Saudi Arabian embassy in Istanbul on October 2, 2018 to carry out paperwork ahead of his marriage to a Turkish national.

In November, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu who claims to have listened to the sound recordings of the killing, said: “He was killed within seven minutes, it was premeditated murder.”

After several weeks of denying allegation of killing Khashoggi, the Saudi government towed a different line, saying that Mr Jamal Khashoggi died during a fistfight in the Saudi consulate, Istanbul.

The resolution of the U.S. Senate included a fresh position on the Yemeni Civil War, with the lawmakers’ declaring that there is no statutory authorization for United States involvement in hostilities in the Yemen civil war; and demanding immediate cease fire and an end to air-to-air refueling of Saudi-led coalition aircraft operating in Yemen.
