Brexit: UK Can Revoke Its Notification To Exit From EU – Court of Justice Of The EU

Unic Press UK: The United Kingdom has the rights to unilaterally revoke the notification to exit the European Union (EU), which the country served the EU on March 29, 2017, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled Monday.

“When a member state has notified European Council of its intention to withdraw from the European Union, as the U.K. has done, that member state is free to revoke unilaterally that notification,” a Press Release by the Court of Justice of the European Union reads.

The United Kingdom had voted on 23 June 2016 to leave the European Union with 51.8% [more than 17.4 million of the total votes]. Thereafter, on March 29, 2017, the UK Prime Minister Theresa May via a signed letter triggered Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty to formally declare that the UK would exit the EU.
