Unic Press UK: Israeli Defense Minister, Avigdor Liberman officially resigned Thursday in protest over a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the State of Israel, demanding early elections, calling into question the security policy of Israel.
Liberman argues that the ceasefire agreement is a vote for terror at a time Hamas is bombarding Israel with missiles, causing injuries and destruction of properties in Israel.
“What happened. . . the ceasefire, together with the deal with Hamas, is a capitulation to terror. There is no other way of explaining it. What we’re doing now as a state is buying short-term quiet, with the price being severe long-term damage to national security,” Liberman told reporters Wednesday.
“In front of everyone, thank you-commanders, soldiers and the Ministry of Defense employees. I had the right and honor of being your defense minister. I strengthen the residents of the south, who are long-term and personal courage. You are today’s true pioneers. My heart and my hopes with the families of the captives and the missing. I wish we could exercise the verse “and the boys to the Border,” he tweeted yesterday.
