Unic Press UK: The Republicans and the Democrats today battle over the control of the U.S. Congress as the voters march to the polls to vote in the 2018 U.S. Midterm Elections holding across the country.

U.S. Midterm Elections

Midterm Elections in the U.S. are basically a combination of Senate, House and Governorship Elections, taking place halfway – every two years – between the country’s Presidential Election that holds every four years.

During the Midterm Elections, the electorate would chose 435 persons for the House of Representatives, while one-third of the Senate is up for election as the Senators serve a staggered six-year length terms.

A party needs fifty-one seats to control the Senate, which has a total of 100 seats; and 218 are needed to control the 435-member House.
