Unic Press UK: The Nigerian government has donated $500,000 and seven vehicles and a range of electoral kits to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau as a means of helping with and facilitating the conduct the country’s legislative elections.
Speaking on Wednesday when the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General to Guinea-Bissau, José Viegas Filho visited his office in the FCT Abuja, the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyema said the donation is part of a framework towards ensuring peaceful elections, peace and stability in Guinea-Bissau.
Jose Filho in his remarks, praised the Nigerian government for rendering support to Guinea-Bissau.
Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria are members of the Economic Community of West African States.
