Khashoggi Killing ‘One Of The Worst In The History Of Cover-Ups’, Says Trump

Unic Press UK: United States President Donald Trump said that the killing of a Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, is one of the worst cover-ups in history.

Trump made the remark Tuesday in the U.S. as he met military leaders for a briefing.

“I would say it was a total fiasco, from day one, from the thought, whoever put it in their minds, that was not a good thought. They had a very bad original concept. It was carried out poorly. And the cover-up was one of the worst in the history of cover-ups. It’s very simple. Bad deal. Should have never been thought of. Somebody really messed up,” he said.

Turkish authorities had first accused the Saudi Arabian government of killing Jamal Khashoggi, who walked into the Saudi Arabian embassy on October 2, 2018 do carry out paperwork ahead of his marriage to a Turkish national, but did not exit the building thereafter.

The Turkish government persistently submitted that it had a proof that Mr Khashoggi was killed in the building, claiming to be in possession of the audio and video recording of the killing, and seemingly accusing the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of authorizing the killing.

After circa two weeks’ of Saudi denial and condemnation by state actors, the Saudi government confessed that Mr Jamal Khashoggi was indeed killed inside its consulate in Istanbul, saying Khashoggi died during a fistfight inside the consulate.
