Unic Press UK: The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, which is situated in the capital city of Imo state of Nigeria, Owerri, is the topmost polytechnic in the country, says National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Speaking at the end of the Second Regular Meeting of the NBTE Governing Board in Kaduna, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Masa’udu Kazaure, said that the criteria for deciding on the best was based on the institution’s right mix of academic staff, courses/programme in new and emerging fields, capacity building of staff both within and outside Nigeria, teaching quality, ratio between staff/student, ratio between the full-time to part-time staff, campus master plan/strategic plan, quality of academic staff, the incorporation of entrepreneurship education into the institute’s curriculum and a well established entrepreneurship development centre, and so on, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The second ranked is the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogu state. In the third position is the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna.
