9 Billion Liberian Dollars (Or $58 Million) Disappeared From Freeport Of Monrovia

Unic Press UK: In the Republic of Liberia, a huge sum of the country’s local banknotes valued at $58 million (or circa L$9 billion), vanished soon after the containers loaded with the cash arrived in a Sea Port in Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia, the Monrovia Times Newspaper reports.

The country’s Ministry of Justice has commenced an investigation [with a Special Presidential Investigative Team, which is composed of the Liberian National Police, National Security Agency, and the Financial Intelligence Unit] to unravel how the container/bags warehousing the money disappeared from the Freeport of Monrovia, Liberia.

The Ministry added that its initial findings reveals that the containers and bags containing the missing money had arrived Monrovia between November 2017 to August 2018.
