Unic Press UK: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been wooing top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly governors and lawmakers of the ruling party.
In a statement Wednesday, the PDP’s national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said that “it has already concluded discussions with six APC governors and 27 APC members in the National Assembly, who have also drawn their consultations and secured the mandates of their constituents to move to the PDP ahead of the 2019 general election. . . the members of the National Assembly decamping to the PDP will cross-carpet at the reconvening of session in the two chambers, which will increase the PDP majority in both chambers.”

Within the last few weeks, fourteen Senators, the Senate President Bukola Saraki, three state governors’ Samuel Ortom (Benue), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara) and Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), thirty-seven House of Representatives members and even Buhari hitherto die-hard supporter Buba Galadima and several other high profile persons have decamped from the APC to other opposition political parties.
