Unic Press UK: The Russian Federation would fast track their efforts towards ditching the American currency Dollar in trade transactions.
During an interview with the International Affairs magazine, the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, said: “The time has come when we need to go from words to actions, and get rid of the dollar as a means of mutual settlements, and look for other alternatives. There is a common understanding that we need to move towards the use of national currencies in our settlements. There is a need for this, as well as the wish of the parties,” the RT reports.
Last week, the Russian government expressed interest in trading with the Republic of Turkey using the currencies of both countries.
Russia’s measures are, in part, a response to frequent U.S. sanctions.
