Buhari Failed Woefully, Says Atiku Abubakar Spokesman

Unic Press UK: The spokesman of Atiku Abubakar, Segun Showunmi, averred that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will have enough arsenal to clobber the incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 Presidential Election if his principal emerges as the party’s flag-bearer.

In an interview with Daily Sun, Nigeria, which was published Monday, Showunmi said: “It will be unwise for the PDP to bring an unpopular candidate to challenge the incumbent President. That would be disastrous.”

When questioned on how Atiku would tackle the high crime rate and insecurity in the country, he said: “Atiku is deeply concerned as regards the unending killings by herdsmen in different parts of Nigeria. He has repeatedly suggested a complete overhaul of the internal security architecture of Nigeria.”

The 71-year-old presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar, who was a former Nigeria vice president, is a top contender for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Another top presidential aspirant is Martin Onovo of the National Conscience Party (NCP). Onovo is a qualified and consulting engineer. He attended the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and the University of Texas, United States, where he studied Petroleum Engineering. Last week, the entire South West regional bloc of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) named Onovo as “The Face of the New Nigeria”.
