Unic Press UK: The United States President Donald Trump and the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin met today in Helsinki, Finland, discussing a series of global challenges and bilateral issues.
Trump, who had a one-on-one meeting with Putin in Helsinki to eschew leakage of highly confidential issues in the light of incessant leaks by his aides, strongly justified his administration’s decision to hold concrete talks at the highest level with the Russian government. Speaking at a joint press conference held by the two most powerful presidents in the world, the U.S. President said: “Our relationship has never been worse than it is now, however that changed as of about four hours ago. Refusing to engage will not accomplish anything,” the Russian News Agency TASS reports.
On allegations by the U.S. authorities that the Russian government had interfered with the U.S. 2016 Presidential Election, the U.S. President said: “I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today. He just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be,” the Associated Press reports.
President Putin in his remarks was unequivocal about his desire for a Trump win in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election, saying: “Yes, I wanted him to win because he spoke of normalization of Russian-U.S. ties. Isn’t it natural to feel sympathy to a person who wanted to develop relations with our country? It’s normal.”
TRUMP’S DOUBLE DOWN ON TWITTER
President Obama thought that Crooked Hillary was going to win the election, so when he was informed by the FBI about Russian Meddling, he said it couldn’t happen, was no big deal, & did NOTHING about it. When I won it became a big deal and the Rigged Witch Hunt headed by Strzok!

As I said today and many times before, “I have GREAT confidence in MY intelligence people.” However, I also recognize that in order to build a brighter future, we cannot exclusively focus on the past – as the world’s two largest nuclear powers, we must get along! #HELSINKI2018

“I would rather take a political risk in pursuit of peace, than to risk peace in pursuit of politics. #HELSINKI2018,” he further said in one of his tweets.
