2018 FIFA World Cup: Japan Advances On New Rules On Yellow Cards

Group H

  • Colombia 1 – 0 Senegal
  • Japan 0 – 1 Poland

In Group H, Colombia and Japan advanced into the knockout stages. Japan and Senegal had four points each, but Japan came second in the group as ‘fair play’, a fresh tiebreaker [based on the team with the least number of yellow cards) in the group stage of the world cup, comes into force for the first time today.

Group G

  • Belgium 0 – 1 England
  • Panama 1 – 2 Tunisia

Belgium and England had earlier qualified for the knockout stage with a match in hand.
