Plateau Killings: Security Agencies Have 72 Hours To Arrest Cattle Breeders’ Leader

Unic Press UK: The Coalition of Civil Society for Peace and Good Governance, a group of civil society organizations has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Nigerian Police Force to arrest the Chairman of the north central zone of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Danladi Ciroma, who had declared that the Cattle Breeders’, of which he is one of their leaders’, are responsible for the murder of more than a hundred innocent civilians in Plateau State of Nigeria.

Speaking on the killings allegedly perpetuated by Fulani herdsmen, the President of the Coalition of Civil Society for Peace and Good Governance, Gyang Chomo, said:

“We want to give the security agencies 72 hours to immediately arrest one Alhaji Danladi Ciroma, the North Central Chairman of Miyette Allah, who has publicly claimed responsibility for the killing of our people. If we found that he has not been arrested after the expiration of this notice, we shall commence a profound legal action against the federal and state government,” the Guardian Newspaper, Nigeria, reports.

The killings by Fulani herdsmen is surprisingly intractable under the Buhari administration, despite the fact that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) had, very often, publicly claimed ‘responsibility’ for the murder of innocent people. In a recent statement Monday, the Chairman of the north central zone of the Cattle Breeders’ Association, Danladi Ciroma, said the killings in Plateau State are retaliatory, and will continue until the missing cows are found.
