United Nations Flays U.S. Over Migrant Family Separations

Unic Press UK: The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, has questioned the migrant family separation policy of the United States.

Speaking during the 38th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Al Hussein described the punitive separation policy as not only unconscionable but also a sort of “government-sanctioned child abuse”, the UN News Centre reports.

In a report last week, Friday, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security had announced that the Trump administration separated 1,995 children from 1,940 adults between 19 April and 31 May 31.
