U.S.-North Korea Nuclear Summit: North Korea’s Kim Lands In Singapore

Unic Press UK: The Democratic Republic of North Korea (DPRK) supreme leader, Kim Jong Un, arrived in Singapore on Sunday ahead of the nuclear summit on Tuesday with the United States President, Donald Trump.singa

In a tweet today, Singapore’s foreign minister, Vivian Balakrishnan, welcomed Kim and posted a photo on Twitter. He said: “Welcomed Chairman Kim Jong Un, who has just arrived in Singapore.”

President Trump is expected to arrive in Singapore later today, having departed from Canada, where he attended a session of the G7.

At the nuclear summit, the two leaders will be discussing the tensions on the Korean Peninsula and the North Korean nuclear arsenal, with the U.S. President demanding that the communist state denuclearize.

North Korea has recorded remarkable strides on nuclear capability. In 2016, the communist nation carried out its fourth and fifth nuclear tests, recording successful detonations on each occasion. On 3rd September 2017, the country announced that its forces successfully carried out a sixth nuclear test, which is said to be five times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Nagasaki by the U.S.
