U.S.-North Korea Summit: Location, Date Announced By President Trump

Unic Press UK: The United States President, Donald Trump, tweeted Thursday about his scheduled meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, giving the venue as Singapore and the date as June 12, 2018.

Mike Pompeo, the newly appointed Secretary of State of the United States, had visited the North Korean leader twice, discussing the modalities for U.S.-North Korea summit and requesting for the release of three Americans [Kim Dong Chul, Kim Hak-song and Kim Sang Duk] detained by the North Korean authorities.

Kim Dong Chul, Kim Hak-song and Kim Sang Duk were released and repatriated to the U.S. on Wednesday, following an order of Kim Jong-Un, the Supreme Leader of the DPRK who doubles as the Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The U.S. President is further demanding that the DPRK (also known as North Korea) denuclearize. The North Korean leader is demanding assurances that the U.S. will not invade his country, insisting on piecemeal denuclearization in exchange for relaxed sanctions.
