Zimbabwe Legalizes Marijuana For Medicinal, Scientific Uses

Unic Press UK: The Republic of Zimbabwe has legalized the production of marijuana for scientific and medicinal purposes, but recreational use remains illegal, the Associated Press reported.

A notice issued by the country’s health minister said application for licenses to grow marijuana is now open to individuals and corporations.

In 2017, the Kingdom of Lesotho became the first African nation to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

Based on the United Nations 2017 World Drug Report, Africa is currently the second after the Americas in terms of production and consumption of marijuana.
